We need to raise the final £250,000 so the Children’s Department at Ipswich Hospital can be completely re-developed and transform the experience of its young patients and their families.
We want to create a welcoming and child-friendly environment fit for the 21st century, with improved facilities for patients and their families or carers.
The work would see the department, which is made up of a 24-bed inpatient ward, children’s outpatient department and a short stay paediatric assessment unit, completely remodelled and refurbished. Patients and their families have been involved in helping to draw up the plans, which include:
“The aim of The Children’s Appeal is to create a modern, calming environment which matches the high standards of care our patients already receive. The new-look department will significantly improve the facilities available to our staff and help them to continue meeting increasing demand for our services while maintaining their focus on delivering a gold standard of care for every single patient.
“The department will be beautifully illustrated with a Suffolk farming and countryside theme so that it reflects our local area, stands the test of time and appeals to children and young people of all ages. We’d encourage anyone who is thinking about fundraising to consider supporting The Children’s Appeal and help our dream come true.”
