Throughout the pandemic, communities have come together in support of the NHS. One of the outcomes from this has been an outpouring of donations to the national NHS Charities Together charity. Of the total £30 million available nationally, NHS Charities Together have allocated £445,772 for work in Suffolk & North East Essex, and in order to identify where this money would make the most impact, Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity has created a new community funding programme – Community Ambition.
The Community Ambition Funding Programme has been created in partnership with the Suffolk & North East Essex Integrated Care System (SNEE ICS) with very specific criteria to reduce health inequalities in ethnically diverse and deprived communities impacted disproportionately by COVID-19 in Suffolk and North East Essex.
There are several stages to the funding process, in order to be able to access the funding from NHS Charities Together, groups, communities, and charities are invited to join a series of Education & Engagement Events to help to really understand the health inequalities and issues faced by these communities. Following these events, there will be an Expression of Interest stage to give communities the opportunity to propose projects and solutions that fit the criteria for this funding.
The events are free to attend and will be hosted over TEAMS as a virtual events. To attend, please select the date most appropriate to you and register online.
