We need to raise the final £205,000 so the Children’s Department at Ipswich Hospital can be completely redeveloped and transform the experience of its young patients and their families.
We want to create a welcoming and child-friendly environment fit for the 21st century, with improved facilities for patients and their families or carers.
The multi-million pound work, which has now been granted planning approval, would see the department, which is made up of a 24-bed inpatient ward, children’s outpatient department and a short stay paediatric assessment unit, completely remodelled and refurbished. Patients and their families have been involved in helping to draw up the plans, which include:
“The aim of The Children’s Appeal is to create a modern, calming environment to match the high standards of care our patients already receive. The new-look department will significantly improve the facilities available, and help our staff continue to meet increasing demand for our services while maintaining their focus on delivering a gold standard of care for every single patient.
“We encourage anyone who is thinking about fundraising to consider supporting The Children’s Appeal and help our dream come true.” Kate Stockton, Matron Children’s Services
