Using art to inspire better health and wellbeing.

Art can help us stay well, aid our recovery, and support us to live longer, better lives. We think everyone should be able to benefit from art. This is why we’re dedicated to bringing art to patients, service users, and carers through our art displays and creative activities.

The artworks newly on display near the muti faith gardens at Ipswich Hospital nearby are part of the Paintings in Hospitals collection, which is home to over 3,500 artworks by world-class artists. The collection is the first and only art collection available to be borrowed by any care organisation in England and Wales. Paintings in Hospitals is a registered charity. The work they do with over 315 care organisations around the country would not be possible without donations and grants.

Each artwork on display at Ipswich Hospital was chosen by patients and staff at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundations Trust.

The Paintings in Hospitals project is being supported and funded by Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity who are passionate about increasing the availability of the arts for patients, visitors, and staff at hospital sites across east Suffolk and north Essex to support and enhance wellbeing.
